Fred Knight 1934-2019

It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of our friend and founder Fred Knight. Sadly, he passed on Wednesday 16th January 2019, at the age of 84.

Fred founded CCPI Europe in 1984, back when it was known as Consolidated Ceramic Products. To begin with the family-run business traded from his garage.

As managing director for over 15 years, he was an integral part in the growth and development of the company. As a result, the company flourished into one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of temperature sensing based products.

All his working life, until his retirement at the age of 80, Fred was involved in temperature sensing. Therefore he had a wealth of knowledge and would happily share it with others. Fred was a well-liked and respected character, consequently was well known throughout this industry.

Fred will be fondly remembered by all his colleagues, customers and friends. We would like to share these words with Fred’s family through this tough time:

Rob Whitehead

“Thanks for all your help, advice and guidance over the years and I remember fondly our trip to Essen”

Jason Green

“I’m very thankful to have had Fred as a mentor and colleague, he taught me a lot about how to conduct business. Fred preferred to carry out his work using traditional methods and there is no doubt that this contributed to his success and that of the company, the foundations of which are still built on the same solid principles. His legacy cannot be undone, and he will be missed.”

Trevor Ford

“Fred’s energy and enthusiasm plus hard work started CCPI and then allowed the company to get where it is today.

It was a great experience and pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with him”

Peter Cowley

“Fred was a real character, a genuine warm person who was greatly respected by his friends, colleagues & customers alike. He will be sadly missed by us all.

Our condolences to June, Janet, Peter, Wendy & all the family at this sad time.”
